This post is strictly how I feel.
In my world, 'spanking' a child is a form of domestic violence. I feel as though this can cause, in the long run, a child to be less cofident and more worried about things. If you think about it, when a man is abusive and hits his woman, he stands over her and yell that she did not do what he wanted her to do and he abuses her. The same thing happens when a child is abused, the parent stands over the child and yells at the child about what she/he did not do while she is hitting the child. When an abused woman gets out of the abusive relationship, she is tenative and shy and definitely scared, and the same for children. But why is it illegal for the adults to get abused and the childern do not? After the 'spanking', children are force to live up to the fact that they are not good enought, and I have myself as a witness, that they are never going to make it in life because they make mistakes and parents 'spank' them. It is demoralizing and it should be against the law. There are other ways to deal with a child then spanking them. Plus, it teaches no lessons in life.
Suicidal Teen's Last Plea

Suicidal Teens
Suicidal teens. So emotional. Which is why they reaction differs from an adult’s. Teens are still going through puberty. Their hormones are hard to maintain control over; which can, sometimes, make their emotional reaction irregular compared to an adult, similar to that of a pregnant woman; thus, causing them to lead in suicide rates. Their hormones expose them to a more devastating decision. Suicidal thoughts and/or actions. A teen with these tremendous attributes surpluses the average rate at which an older age group is likely to commit suicide. With that said, add a traumatic past. A teen that is going through puberty and had or has something negative present in their future is almost assuring suicidal thoughts, and makes it more difficult to ignore the thought of a suicidal action. This CAN be prevented but is often overlooked by many parents across the world. The worst mistake that a parent can make is ‘assuming’ that their child is strong minded and has tremendous endurance, but, the worst lie that a child can tell a mother is ‘I am alright.’
When teens make the decision to become suicidal, it is usually aided by an action or word of the past. They can show a direct effect of the action, meaning that they can immediately go into depressions, or the sign can be vague post traumatic action and get worst and worst as the years go by. Some do not show pain until their older teenage years like 18. According to New York Times’ Post Traumatic Stress Disorder in Depth, majority of those who suffer from a Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, PTSD, are suicidal. All of these disorders have a common denominator: A traumatic past. Not all PTSD’s are the same. They can range from anxiety attacks to OCD. New York Times’ Post Traumatic Stress Disorder in Depth also claims that there are phases that lead to PTSD, also. Things like depressions, isolation, finding things that were once adored, detest. Thinking logically, it only makes sense. If an overwhelming feeling of loneliness stops by, your reaction is to be shy and timid because you feel as though individuals desire not to talk you; thus, called isolation. A mind is a dangerous place and being alone while thinking of possible reasons of why you tend to be alone, makes one very depressed. The chain of events happens rapidly. It is better if you tell someone about the hurt then to keep it to yourself. It is very argumentative to say that an individual had no idea that one is suicidal. With all the prior acknowledgements made, you can determine if someone is suicidal. All it takes is one sign. It is appropriate that you can be wrong, but there is a greater risk present. It is better to be safe than sorry. If someone talks of death and how this world would be better if they were not alive, tell someone. This is a life or death situation, and it can potentially make you suicidal as well.
There are a lot of actions or words that can contribute to suicidal thoughts or actions. Suicidal teens also can become suicidal due to peer stereotypes, and/or bulling. When Yongwen Jiang completed a survey on a high school, he divided the class. The first class, or class 1, was healthy teens with no apparent though of suicide. The second class, or class 2, where teens that have contemplated the thought of suicide. He gathered plenty of evidence with a series of surveys. Many of the suicidal teens in the 2 class admitted to being bullied because of difference in appearance, and/or sexual preference, etc. Also, 14% of class 2 actually explored self-mutation. That is a very high percent of the class. I only imagine how this test would have results if this test was given world-wide. This proves it to be a big problem. Apply this to any school, and imagine the results for every school. It is time to pay attention to this because the problem will only increase if not dealt with properly. And it is only a matter of time before it does increase dramatically, if it has not already.
Some argue that it is not the parents fault, but indeed the children’s fault. It can be argued that some children fail to admit emotional pain. Who all cannot admit that they would hold their tongue if they feel the words about to be said can hurt the feelings of their loved ones? If you cannot, than you really do not love that one person or people. On some occasions, failure to speak can be determined because of intimidation of people. Shy all around people will not speak up because they are already timid. Referring back to PTSD, phobias (such as fear of crowds or public speaking) can cause a child to be withdrawn. Some, to the point where they will not talk at all. Remember, PTSD is caused from traumatic events in the past, which may have left the child traumatized. There are also steps that can determine the teens unusual behavior. To say that there were no ways that you could have discovered your teen slipping into depression or developing a PTSD, is selfish because, obviously, you have not been spending enough time with your teen to notice UNUSUAL actions.
Teens need attention, too. Do not just think that they do not because they are older. They require the love and attention just as a newborn. Parents, I stress to you to pay attention to your teenagers and their behavior and how they react to different things. How they answer to you yelling at them. How they answer to anything. This can change the world. So let’s start here.

'Suicide Patterns' Annotations
Yongwen Jiang investigates the patterns of teens (not just suicidal teens but, the emotionally ok teens.) by doing a survey in a high school on teens. He claims that interventions to at risk teens may pervent the teens from committing suicide. Jiang develops this claim by first evaluating the percentage of students who felt depressed, thought of suicide, attempted suicide, and attempted suicide that resulted in a bodily injury that has to be treated by a nurse. Jiang explores the teen's thoughts by asking them many questions and performing many tests. Lastly, Jiang found that many of the suicidal teens had different sexual preferences, (a woman likeing a woman, etc.)had a traumatic past, and fellings of being overweight. Jiang's purpose was to inform those who this effects about the emotional distress that America puts on teens (having to be skinny, or light-skinned is the new beautiful.)in order for them to understand and/or try to pervent these occurances to happen in a loved one. This work is significant because it is an actual study of teens who are going throught these things vs. a person who researched it.

'Bullying, Suicide, Punishment' Annotations
In the article 'Bullying, Suicide, Punishment',John Schwartz states that people are being cyberbullied or publically humiliated and are comitting suicide and nobody can do anything about it because they are protected in the constitution. He claims that actions that the bully decides to partake in can cause PTSD and can potentially lead to suicidal thoughts or even actions. Schwartz develops this claim by investigating a suicide that was caused by public humiliation and the punishment that is being put into place. Schwartz explores the thought that people have freedom of speech and are using this to humiliate people. Lastly, John Schwartz purpose is to inform many of the harm that people can cause when they are not cautious of what they say and how they say it. In order to form a more perfect nation, we must adives the unaware, the ignorant, the illknowleged of their behaviors to their fellow Americans and the damage they can, eventually, do. This work is significant because it confronts the problem at hand. It makes it hard for people to ignore the thought of this.
'Post Traumatic Stress Disorder In-Depth Report' Passage Annotation
In the article 'Post Traumatic Stress Disorder In-Depth Report', the New York Times states that some post traumatic stress disorders, or PTSD, are caused by physical and/or mental abuse or lost of a loved one, which can lead to suicidal thoughts or behavior. It states that some abusive behaviors that one suffers from in the past can also cause low self esteem, low self confidence, and even anxiety and intimidation. New York Times develops this claim by investigating what each PTSD is and how it functions in the brain. It then supports the claim by listing the symptoms that are perform when one is thought to have it. The New York Times then investigates the occurrences and how often it occurs in each of the disorders. Lastly, it states that suicide cannot be determined by taking a test because it is more about the persons mental stability and their emotional reaction to severe events. New York Time's purpose isto inform the audience on how these disorders function in order to aware the unaware of the occurrences that can cause disorders so that they can get proper help or properly help others. This work is significant because it provides grounding to my topic. It gives me a better understanding of the emotional wear that a suicidal teen is facing and advances my thoughts so that I can, eventually, figure out why somel teens choose to kill themselves and why others do not.
